I am aware of the conditions of the present contracts. Should everyone not know what they are bidding against?

It would be up to Mark as to how much information would be released about present contracts. I can ask him - however, the public CFC financial statements show how much is presently spent on Admin costs, CCN, and gross and net sales on Equipment.

I can summarize those, if somebody doesn't beat me to it.

It's nice so many RFP's couid be prepared so soon after a sudden resignation.

We have been working on the RFP's all through the month of Feb, with the idea of having them all go out at once.

I hope he's getting paid well for that series. It's top notch.

                          Oh, that post.

It's a compliment on how quickly things are moving ahead after the sudden resignation.

I'm sure I don't know what part of the sentence Ken found difficult to understand.

                            Re: CFC President resigns

Thanks to Michael Von Keitz, for his fine service to Canadian chess and to the CFC, during the past several years. Michael is a true gentleman, classy and intelligent, with an ear for all, and a core of integrity. :)

He will be missed, but hopefully he will return to demonstrate his superb leadership skills for Canadian chess in the near future. I hope his absence is only temporary. :)

Michael may have been the youngest CFC President in history. I remember meeting him for the first time at the CFC AGM in Ottawa, 2007, when Hal Bond introduced us. We sat right down for a half-hour discussion on post-secondary chess, where Michael, then still a post-secondary student, cut his teeth before moving up the CFC hierarchy.

To view first-hand another of Michael's skills, go to chessbase.com for his well-written, thorough profile of each Candidate, in advance of the upcoming Candidates' Tournament, due to start within a couple of weeks.

Insofar as Mark Dutton taking over the balance of Michael's term as president of the CFC, until the Annual General Meeting in Ottawa this coming July, from my standpoint, the less said the better.

The CFC Annual meeting is now held online.

The meeting is presently scheduled for July 1-7, 2013, although there could be a motion coming to change that to June.

I guess that gives Governors 3 or 4 months to decide whether they shall put their name forward for an executive position.
