    I used to do this regularly when Ottawa 5 round weekend events were 3 games Saturday and then 2 games Sunday. I'd take a bye in round 1 (useful to sleep in at least one day, hoping for a short round 3 game too), though a lot of people prefered to take a round 3 bye instead, if they had a choice.

    Now Ottawa weekend events are typically one game Friday evening, then 2 rounds each of the other days on the weekend. Garland commutes from Almont, and only plays occasionally in weekend events, mainly in other Eastern Ontario towns that still have a 3 game Saturday format, afaik.
