Hi Rick:
On the CFC Chess Forum yesterday, Jan. 6, ED Bob Gillanders said in a post that CFC is " currently focused on achieving 3 goals,
1. .............
2. Giving birth to the webzine
3. ............... "
So, in Bob's words, they are still " focused " on the on-line Chess Canada . But he didn't give any clear date.

The development of the online magazine is coming along nicely. Bob is busy with the shutting down of the condo - closing date is Jan.15 - but will soon announce the webzine's birth date.Comment

How long does it take to do a magazine? It's gotten to be like a running joke and the format calls for one issue every 3 months.Originally posted by David Cohen View Post

I had been hoping they would come out of this with their own online server and a plan for using it to run separately rated events to supplement the face to face events (not to replace them) and recruitment. Some events free with membership and some pay as you play. Online seems to be the way chess is going. Even the CCCA has implemented server events on the ICCF server as the result of an agreement with them.
I could be wrong but it looks to me like the online servers are eating the CFC's lunch. They are here and they are now.Gary Ruben
