      So Short drew then? There is no live game for that board. Also, was Aman up for a GM norm if he won?

        Jim, there is another tab for completed games (Live Games, Replay Games) . Be careful not to open more than a couple of games. I think the application crashes if you open 3 or more games at one time.

        They have a nice feature in which an image of a mock scoresheet comes up. Wouldn't it be neat if that was live as well?

          I was looking at 20. Nxg6 for Aman but maybe it's not good.

            thanks. The Short game shows now in replay, but didn't show in either earlier. I guess Eric has some extra spending money now for the upcoming European trip

              Have final standings been posted anywhere, or did I miss them?

                Seems you missed them. Maybe next year.

                  Re: FINAL ROUND PAIRINGS etc

                  They were printed and posted in the lobby, but they still haven't been emailed to me, so there's no way for me to post them. When I get them, I'll post them.

                  I took a photo of the list of prize winners, and have hand copied it and posted it on another thread.

                    I noticed Ng6 as well. I have White with winning chances and Black with none in an RPPP-vs-BPPP ending.

                      Re: FINAL ROUND PAIRINGS etc

                      I was watching that game and working the variations without the use of a chess engine so didn't get to the ending pieces. The lines looked promising for white after 20. Nxg6 but sometimes I miscalculate. Often myself and a friend exchange variations from the games in email. That was one I mentioned to him during play.

                      Since I'm still seeing that kind of stuff, maybe I should take on a CC event.

                          Re: Round 7 - photos and one shock game

                          Kevin Spraggett in his blog mentioned the Canadian Open and used three words in reference to it, " incompetent , self-important and arrogant. "
                          I am curious to hear the take of players who were actually there. Did they agree with Kevin's observations or did they have a different view?

                              (Please excuse my poor english.)

                              I really enjoy the tournament... but :

                              1- I think the change of the time control 2 weeks before the tournament is a bad idea;
                              2- Sometimes, we played with pieces coming from different sets ;
                              3- PGN games were not published very fast.

                              About this last point, I have a suggestion.
                              To create a wiki page (that's easy!) where all players can drop their own games from the tournament.
                              Sometimes, we follow games from neighbour boards, and don't have to opportunity to follow ALL of it... A wiki is the best software to use to collect all those games.
