Dilip, the point is that renewable energy sources (wind & solar) have made giant technological leaps forward over the past 2-3 decades. Efficiency is way up and costs are way down. We are ready now for that big global shift away from fossil fuels towards renewables. We just need the political will to fight our way through the haze of propaganda and dark money from far right groups.

Climate Change Thread “Responses”

There are lots of climate change articles out there, both on negative anthropogenic climate change, and negative natural climate change.

This thread encourages CT'ers on all sides to re-post here, as responses, the climate change posts of interest they see elsewhere. Overall, ChessTalker's have been quite active here in posting “responses” and it seems that chessplayers across Canada re wanting information on climate change, a challenge unlike any our species has ever faced before.

Note:

1. The goal of this thread is not to woodshed an opposing view into submission. Every position is entitled to post as it sees fit, regardless of the kind of, and amount of, postings by other positions. What is wanted is serious consideration of all posts........then you decide.
2. I personally, as the thread originator, am trying to post a new response at least every 2^nd day, but admit my busy schedule means I am sometimes falling short on this. So it is great that a number of other CT'ers are posting responses here somewhat regularly.

The Pressing Climate Change Issue

The core issue:

Building a sense of URGENCY on this issue in society. We must realize that we cannot kick it down the road any longer!

The public is aware of the climate change issue.......

BUT.....

climate activists must find strategies to “AWAKEN” the public to the “urgency”.

It is expected, though somewhat disheartening, to see other negative issues of the day climb immediately to the top of the public's agenda, with climate change being sometimes substantially downgraded in importance. We will all pay for this.........

The Time Line

Nature's Tipping point is estimated to be, on current trajectory, only 9 years away (Around Jan. 1, 2031). Capping the temperature rise at only 1.5 degrees Celsius (the original international target) is now impossible (UN Climate Change Panel's most recent report). Their position is that the problem at this time is mostly due to human activity, and that radical change in our method of living is the only way to avoid this rising, very problematic, temperature. UNCCP noted that current government deadlines were totally insufficient to solve the problem. CO 2 must be capped by 2025! Methane is another greenhouse gas of concern, with some maintaining it contributes more to the problem than CO2. The extent of involvement in the greenhouse effect of water vapour is somewhat controversial.

Also, it has now become necessary to add in the process of CO 2 “removal”, along with “eliminating” the spewing of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere by human activity.

Our window of opportunity is fast closing.

The Large Picture Solutions

Can we come up with at least one viable suggestion of some impressive, radical thing that might wake up the public, that we could then put out there to other concerned climate activists?

Negative “Natural” Climate Change

This thread has had a number of CT'ers arguing for Natural Climate Change, and arguing that the human economic activity contribution to negative climate change is negligible. We are just in one of Nature's long warming cycles.

We would encourage everyone to consider the materials being presented, and then see whether they in any way change your perspective, if you are an adherent of negative Anthropogenic climate change. Whether you change anything, or not, your assessment of the evidence would be most welcome in this thread.

Here is the start of the Fascist New World Order that Bob Armstrong thinks is so wonderful (15 Minute cities). You see, Bob has decided that even though the temp has risen at an average of .5 degrees every 100 years for the last 300 years, during which the first 150 years were with no human-driven CO2 emissions driven almost entirely by Solar activity because the corrupted MSM says CO2 emissions drive the climate so it must be true.
No doubt if the consensus by the Govt MSM controlled said that healthy people with no symptoms should be masked and locked down because they spread the disease even though it is scientifically impossible, he would buy into it.
Heck, he might even think it is a good idea to inject poison continuously into his arm muscle because the MSM says it will help others, and you won't have to be locked down if you do this! Who cares that the government's data shows millions dead from these injections and science shows that it does nothing to prevent infection or spread, and in fact, the only thing it does is slowly kill you?

Oxford was one of the first to announce a scheme where car owners will be fined for driving outside of their local area. On Saturday, people gathered in Oxford to protest the 15-minute prisons the World Economic Forum and its collaborators are attempting to implement.

Proving that even children have more common sense and forethought than Net Zero Zealots, 12-year-old Jasmine sent Klaus Schwab a strong message: “How dare you steal my childhood and my future, and the future of all children, by enslaving us in your crazy digital surveillance prison.”



David Kurten of the Heritage Party was there. “No councillors, MPs or unelected globalists have the right to restrict the freedom of the people,” he said.

Also in attendance was a pathetic looking, and perhaps “paid-to-be-there,” motley crew of masked counter-protestors yelling “fascists” at those making a stand for our rights and freedoms. They obviously haven’t a clue what fascism is. And, it almost appears as if they are being paraded down the street with a police escort. Perhaps that’s why they’re shuffling along looking awkward and embarrassed. At least they had the sense to completely cover themselves up so they can’t be identified – they would never live down the shame and their family and friends would probably disown them.

The Oxford Mail, being part of the establishment, focused on the number of people arrested, managing to avoid the reason for the protest entirely. In the days leading up to the protest, using blatant propaganda tactics, Oxford Mail marred the protests as infiltrated or influenced by the “far right” and “neo-Nazis.” Their lack of reporting on the draconian proposed measures based on a false narrative firmly identifies them as part of the propaganda machine.

Oxford Mail reported that 2,000 people attended the event which surprisingly – considering how numbers attending previous freedom protests have been grossly underreported by corporate media – isn’t that far off. By placing a camera in the middle of a road that protestors walked down, a citizen journalist filmed the protestors passing by and estimated the number of protestors at 2,600.

Last October, The Sunday Times described what Oxfordshire County Council’s proposed policy is:

“Oxford’s 150,000 residents will be allowed to use their cars as much as they like within their district and will be given free permits allowing them to drive to other districts on 100 days a year. If they exceed this limit, they will be fined, possibly £70 a journey or a day. A maximum of three permits a household will be allowed … The restrictions will take effect between 7 am and 7 pm, seven days a week, in four of the six districts, but not on Sundays in the other two.”

The Oxford Mail reported that Duncan Enright, Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for travel and development strategy, “insisted the controversial plan would go ahead whether people liked it or not.”

And as it turns out Oxford residents don’t much care for Marxist-style authoritarianism and social media users let staff and councillors of Oxfordshire City Council know how they felt about the “15-minute neighbourhood” plans which prompted the dictators in the council to claim they were the victims of online abuse.

Oxford City Council, Oxford County Council and Oxford Mail seem to be incapable of comprehending that people do not want, nor do they agree, to be forced into a dystopian future that globalist technocrats have devised to control residents and remove their rights and freedoms.

Councillors are supposed to be public servants, not totalitarian dictators.

Yes, a very beautiful, brainwashed woman spewing gibberish. I have only two questions following Bob Armstrong's request for data that he promised to analyze and did not,

1) The temperature has risen on average .5 degrees every one hundred years at the same rate, including half of that period where there were no CO2 emissions from human industry. Where is the climate emergency if the unchanged rate predicts a .5-degree increase in the next 100 years?
2) How can it be that manmade industry-caused climate change if it did not emit CO2 for the first half of the 300-year modern warming period? Did solar activity cease in the twentieth century?

I can be against a global totalitarian government in the making, and still believe that vaccination is of more help than harm (Yes this is mainstream medical science, as consistently reported by MSM). I and my wife did get COVID-19, despite our best efforts to continue to be careful, and yes we each had had 5 vaccination shots. It was definitely more than happens with a flu. But my personal physician assured me that we both would have been much sicker if we had not had the vaccinations (Especially me, being a diabetic senior - this is the group with the highest mortality rate and hospitalization rate).
