Yes, 3.d4 - if we have a mainline Sicilian more people might contribute.

Hi Alex,
You wrote 2.Nf6??, as above, that is incorrect to make. Our team play white in this match. Could you straight that out?

Hi Alex:
I think you meant 2.Nf3 ( not Nf6 ). And I think you are correct - that has the most votes.

Re: Chess Talk (Canada) vs Space Chess (Germany)
Don't forget the Snyder Sicilian. 2. b3. Of course, I don't know how that plays against a computer and we can feel certain these games will be ground throught the Silicon Meatgrinder.Originally posted by Hans Jung View PostNf3 sounds good.
Of course, the Sicilian Snyder has some advantages. It tends to take your opponent out of the normal lines AND grabs the diagonal which black likes to try to exploit when he plays the dragon. A white threat to blacks king side pawns.
Not that I'm trying to influence the play but am throwing out an option to consider.
I can't recall ever playing that turkey move. :)
Now I must run. My chess magazine from the CCCA has arrived in the mail and I want to spend some time with it. Personally, I think everyone should join the CCCA to have a chess magazine delivered to their home.
One piece of news I'd like to share with everyone. Wayne Hynes has earned the Senior International Master correspondence title. I have two reasons to cheer about this. The main one is that Wayne has worked hard and is a great team mate on the teams. The other reason is now he can play board one because I am too darn old and tired to do it. If only it was as easy as running a computer...
