Bindi Cheng feels hatred, superimposes it onto his nemesis (me).
I would say that Bindi is bemused by you and your reactions which seem more appropriate to a fictional character than a functioning human being.

You on the other hand feel psychological inferiority, and superimpose that onto your nemesis (me).
As usual you are not very internally consistent. If you are going immerse yourself in Freudian ideas perhaps you should read up on the topic. You don't rise to the level of nemesis. When I picture you, I certainly don't picture a Greek goddess or a character that makes it past the first act. You are more of a Gollum from the novel (and not the movie) "The Hobbit". You are a minor threshold guardian who is dispensed with by the hero early in the story to be filed away for another day and a more prominent role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

In order to attract the ire of Nemesis the protagonist has to exhibit hubris in the face of the gods which is not consistent with your new story line of an inferiority complex. A narcissist such as yourself might be expected to make such projections onto others. It certainly explains a few things. Your diatribe against all the good feelings when we were celebrating our young world champion,... This brought back painful memories of your father celebrating some minor childhood triumph of your brother who you seem to resent even to this day.

I understand fully and completely what is going on.

You, Vlad Drkulec, are experiencing a hiatus from your previously humdrum no-account life by suddenly being President of a niche group, and using that post to suddenly 'appear' (via this equally niche podium) god-like; a veritable cornucopia of intelligence, wisdom and power.
If you ever get off of your butt and establish your new federation you will not get the reward that you think you will. The role of the president is that of a servant. The hard part is setting appropriate boundaries.

There is no need to wallow in your self defeat as the song goes. I have simply dealt with you before. Not you exactly. Smarter, richer, stronger, more charismatic, more educated, actually much more charismatic editions of you, just as malevolent but more focused and driven with (mostly) less psychological baggage. There is nothing new under the sun.

Which gives a whole new meaning to Kerry Liles' "LMAO" reply, even if Kerry didn't intend that meaning.
I think you got Kerry Liles meaning. ROFLMAOAY.

Happiness is a relative concept, there is no absolute happiness in this physical universe because of time. Any notion of absolute happiness is polluted by the limits and transience of time, and any reference to happiness needs to be made relative to have any meaning.
I will take that as a resounding, "No."

That you would ascribe some notion of absolute unhappiness to me -- and do so without so much as a grain of evidence -- is simply a refutation of the knowledge you pretend to have in your self-elevating references to various thinkers.
Happy people don't need to tear down others and inject themselves in a very negative way in what everyone else who is normally functioning would perceive as a good news story - the second world championship in two years. I fully and truly understand you and your pain.

You have learned nothing except names and concepts, which is like a person memorizing various mathematical equations and pretending to be a mathematician. You have not experienced the concepts, to understand their meaning.
It is not necessary to experience psychosis or neurosis in order to understand it.

You merely demonstrate that a little bit of knowledge is indeed a dangerous thing.
Meanwhile, you demonstrate that a total lack of knowledge and insight is an even more dangerous thing.

Am I happy relative to you? Yes, because I know what's coming and you don't. Whatever happiness you are having right now in relation to your former pre-CFC President self is soon to undergo what in stock market parlance is called a 'plunge'. Of course, that is assuming that you actually DO care about chess, which is something I don't personally believe. I see through the curtain and know that you USE chess for your own ends.
Guilty as charged. My own ends being helping others to experience what I have experienced by playing chess.

Anyone that cared about chess would not have treated Sid Belzberg in the manner that you did, especially after he cleared up any misconceptions you pretended to have about his motives.
You are boring me now. The FIDE election is over and done with. We made our calculations and contrary to everything you have claimed the results have exceeded our expectations. The Faustian bargain that Sid offered was way too expensive for my taste.

But what is most telling is that you would rather reply to my comments about a childhood experience than comment upon the much more important and relevant issues (to ChessTalkers) of FIDE money -- actual $$$ -- earmarked to GM and IM norms

Yes the money that you and Sid said would never come. I know. Now that its here you have many "important" things to say about it.

while you personally rail against lack of VOLUNTEERS to help with the CFC website. What a dereliction of duty and a total lack of understanding! You are CFC President and you spend time on li'l ol' me while the whole CFC infrastructure is crumbling around you (but there's Kirsan money for the elite). Busted!
You are such a drama queen. You are the one who lacks understanding and that is why you fail in all of your predictions. The infrastructure is not crumbling. Some people want the website to be something it is not right now. They want someone else to make it this other something. Someone else is not stepping forward. I got involved in CFC governance because I realized that there was no someone else. Certainly the landscape of Canadian chess is a target rich environment when it comes to finding room for improvement.

We work with FIDE on many things. We work with volunteers on many things. Volunteers work on things that interest them. There is not that much interest in working on the website from volunteers. The website is only one tool in getting our message out.

You have my special attention because you are one of the people that make chesstalk a dysfunctional environment. There is always the temptation to simply abandon it to the trolls and perhaps at some point I will do that but not today.

I could but it probably makes more sense to ask the CCN editor first when he thinks they will be done which I have done.

To get back to the meeting and the financial reports, which I find complicated and unclear, does the treasurer see the bank and investment statements for the CFC and their subsidiary, the Chess Foundation? Is he getting a copy or the original statements? If not, who does?

The Chess Foundation is not really a subsidiary. We get chess foundation statements quarterly usually with a pdf of the brokerage statements separately from Paul Leblanc who administers that. Occasionally we have been provided with scans of the bank statements and screen prints of Paypal accounts for the CFC but more usually we are provided with balances. Hal Bond deals with signatures and banking on a regular basis because of his proximity to Bob Gillanders. Our banking is fairly archaic in my opinion but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

Well, were're not talking an epic battle against the forces of evil here. It's just Paul Bonham. There's a saying about mud-wrestling with a pig that seems to apply.

Besides, Paul doesn't need any distractions from working on his new federation.

the CYCC and CO issue will be done by monday 27th.

there are still two outstanding contributions (promised but not delivered) for the Olympiad issue. When I get them I can assemble that issue, which will take about a week.

As mentioned by Vlad I send the complete pdf brokerage report quarterly to the CFC President, the CFC Treasurer, the Executive Director and the trustees. The next one will be the 31 October statement.

What Paul is sending sounds OK. I'd think the treasurer should be getting bank statements and paypal account information of a regular basis. This only from your description of current practice.

Maybe that is the real endgame here. If we give him the chance to complete his diabolical plans then everyone will be playing his variant and I'll be out of my high paying job as CFC prez. I might have to take a 70% pay cut which will bring my pay down to zero. If my plans come to fruition then I will get a 500% increase in my salary which will bring it all the way up to zero.

OMG, this is truly pathetic from a grown man! 'Your' world champion? You should really examine that statement and all the psychological implications of it (oh dear, I suppose that's an invitation for more of your waxing philosophical on the Lord of the Rings and insertion of more David Bowie or Leonard Cohen lyrics -- sorry, ChessTalkers!).

Absolutely the most laughable characteristic of all the little minds on this forum is this notion of anyone as 'your' world champion. Yes, let's all believe this: Qiyu Zhou was thinking as she played of a certain ChessTalker, knowing he was posting every 5 minutes on her progress like a demented fool, obsessed with who was going to be the World 12-to-13-year-old Girls' Chess Champion -- which was quite remarkable given that somewhere else in the world at that very same time there could have been a match for the World 71-to-72 year old Androgynous Tiddliwink Champion. What a dilemma!

You do understand, Vlad, that when you cheer for a young boy or girl, you are necessarily cheering AGAINST some other young boy or girl? A boy or girl who may be battling his/her own set of demons just as the one you are cheering for is doing? Do you actually think you should receive accolades for such cheering, and all because the one for whom you cheer is a citizen of Canada? Do you, with all your vaunted psychological knowledge and understanding, realize where such thinking leads?

Yes, I think you do and you use it for your own ends. That is why you try to put me down for a 'diatribe' against this way of thinking. I don't care how many there are who think like you do and cheer for Canadian athletes in chess or the Olympics or any other competition: I cheer for all competitors regardless of nation, and I would equally congratulate winners and losers.

According to the Bible, Jesus said something to the effect of "Suffer all the children to come unto me." He didn't say "Have a chess tournament, and suffer only the winners to come unto me." Whether or not one believes in the Bible or in Jesus, this story has something very valuable to teach us.

I understand you have demons. Your father favoured your brother. You identify with the losers. I understand. You need to come to a realization which everyone above a certain age soon comes to understand - Everything is not about you.

In a similar way we should celebrate all the games that no one wants to play like your chess variants I suppose. Let me be the first to congratulate you on creating your variant that no one wants to play. I would also like to congratulate you on your strategy to make sure that no one ever plays it since after all the winners and losers need to be equally congratulated.
