General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
'memba this:
"The economy, stupid", which James Carville had coined as a campaign strategist of Bill Clinton's???
220k new jobs in June 2017!
Dial down your own bullshit and give The Donald some credit!
Canada had a net gain of 54,500 jobs in May. If the usual 10:1 rule of thumb applies then an equivalent US gain would be 545,000. The 220k you're slobbering over seems a little anemic, doesn't it? http://business.financialpost.com/ne...0-a65e07342f09
And by the way, Neil, 'my kind' doesn't verbally attack a persecuted minority in a cruel attempt to make a diversion or gain some questionable political objective. We leave that kind of sleazy behaviour for your kind.

Your kind much prefers criminal behavior? I'm not referring to your poster child Clinton but rather a more sinister example: crushing skulls with a bicycle lock ...Berkley no less!!! Your kind has no problem NOT highlighting rampant Trump hatred and the hatred of free speech across America.
Still not able to admit Trump's job numbers are good for America?
Typical.
P.S. I'm willing to say this, Trump has lost his team. Perhaps not a bad thing, during his run up to the presidency he changed his team members several times ...and won. The only team Trump has left now is his family ...interesting stuff!

Not hatred, just disgust. And there's nothing irrational about it. As I've discussed earlier in this thread, everyone who supported Trump over Clinton is basically some combination of stupid, selfish and xenophobic. At least one of the three. Those are disgusting traits. They should produce disgust. Why do you call it "irrational" that disgusting traits produce disgust in me?
Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying I'm never stupid, selfish or xenophobic. Like all people, I, at times, take on these disgusting traits. But they apparently don't manifest in me to the extent that I could ever even conceive of supporting Trump over Clinton.
I have relatives, friends, and my entire life in America, a country whose (note the correct spelling, you grammar school burnout) very existence is at risk. Since you're a selfish prick who literally believes that you and the other members of your religion are God's chosen people, you care more about how America's politics affect Israel than about how America's politics affect America. Gross. We already knew you were xenophobic from how you've talked about Muslims, especially about Muslim men as compared to "white males." I think we can add selfish to the list.
But don't think you're some big shit or anything. Drkulec still has you beat; he's all three.

You don't know anything about my religious beliefs beyond my ethnic background. Thank you for coming clean however, and revealing to all the Chesstalk members here what a blatant antisemite and bigot you are. Almost eighty years ago the world fought a war to rid mankind of people like you.I don't need to hear anything more as I now know for sure what you are about as does everyone else here.

Shame on you Sid. That you would put your and your people's survival ahead of social engineering and the aims of the social justice warrior antisemitic bigots who will assure you that they are not out to wipe you out but will turn around and do so at the first opportunity. They are indistinguishable from communists.
Israel and the Jewish people are God's chosen people. Anyone who hates them, hates God. It will not end well for them.
Ben Daswani is a hate filled troll. The hate will consume him in the end.
Thanks for that link, Ben. I also read several of the articles linked via your link. They were all good reads.

You're making a lot of assumptions, Neil. Hillary Clinton is not my poster child. Nor do I support people like the ones you talk about in your first paragraph.

I support The Donald. Coming up through architecture he is the guy most of us wanted to work for mid to late 80's. President Trump is turning out to be something, other. I've mentioned time & time again that I don't condone, nor do I understand, his presidential shortcomings.
Middle ground.
And as I exit this thread let me say this.
This thread is more about your negativity and outright hate on Trump. This thread isn't about Trump, Peter. Its about you. If this thread was about Trump there would be at least a modicum of an acknowledgment that there is fake news, there is low unemployment (lowest since 2001!), jobs are being created & national security has been strengthened.
...
Get past those shiny things over there.

You have stated in another thread that you are of the Jewish religion. Doesn't that mean that you think you're of God's chosen people? I'm admittedly no expert on Judaism, but I thought that was one of the basic tenets of the religion?
Thank you for coming clean however, and revealing to all the Chesstalk members here what a blatant antisemite and bigot you are.
Just because I don't like your self-centered, hateful interpretation of the concept of the God doesn't mean that I'm an anti-Semite. Weird word. I have no idea if you're claiming I dislike the Jewish race or the Jewish religion. I obviously have no problem with any race. As for the religion, it's no more silly than Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism or any other religion. When I was pointing out that certain fundamental Christian beliefs are stupid, I was anti-Christian according to Drkulec. Now that I'm pointing out certain fundamental Jewish beliefs are stupid, I'm an anti-Jew according to you. Any Muslims wanna step up so I can go three for three on trashing monotheism?
Almost eighty years ago the world fought a war to rid mankind of people like you.
Yet you are the one who supports religious discrimination, who speaks about Muslim men being more violent than "white males," and who rants about Islam apropos of nothing.
everytime it hurts, it hurts just like the first (and then you cry till there's no more tears)

Also, even if I was wrong about this and that's not a basic tenet of Judaism, that doesn't make me an anti-Semite. An anti-Semite is someone who is prejudiced towards Jews, not someone who holds a misconception about their religion.
Put on your big boy pants, ya fuckin' snowflake.
