Re: Kevin's at it again!
Paul,I've met Kevin numerous times at tournaments with Bryon.I was enamoured at first by his soft spokenness and self-deprecating manner. He always took Bryon and I to dinner and seemed eternally supportive .Bryon told me he was actually being condescending to me but I would have none of it.The first time I met him in fact,he said he could be World Champion if he had Bryon's natural talent, and Bryon could be World Champion if he had his drive and study habits.I was mesmerized. He was known to slip Bryon money as well at tournaments.I felt this way for several years until Bryon was overlooked for inclusion on the olympic team.He was determined to fight this and did receive support from Ontario Governors and theOCA.Kevin was most vocally supportive. Then,it was determined by an unimpeachable source, that K. was actually the instigator of the movement to keep Bryon off the team. This movement was not only directed at Bryon I might add.I said nothing but paid attention in later years. There are very few individuals in Canadian chess who have escaped his invective and I suspect very few who deserved it.The only difference now, is he is becoming less secretive and more vocal.I have no doubt every word on that blog emanates from his mouth.
