In the fight for second place Radjabov and Caruana draw.
Firoujza - Ding was a draw after an interesting endgame.

Nepo played a great tournament. Naka is well deserving of his 2nd place, he played really well and enterprising. Ding had an up and down tournament. Except for a couple of games he could have fought for 1 st place, Firouza is the great deception of the tournament, -4 or -5 and playing bullets all night, Radjabov played really well with a crushing game against Ding with black. Tomorrow we are going to have avery good Naka vs Ding matchup for 2nd place, or maybe a place for a WC match . Who knows ?

What exactly is the champ's issue? Does he loathe Nepo personally? Is it because of Nepo's nationality; i.e. playing a Russian in present circumstances is not correct (would make a mockery of gens una sumus)? Or is the champ just bored with the whole business?Originally posted by Bob Armstrong View PostPeter Doggers said that Carlsen was going to announce his intention 5 min. before the 2022 Candidates' Tournament last round on Monday.

 Seems that that didn't happen.......

imho, that is the case. I don't think he has ambitions to break the Lasker's record. He already beat Nepo badly. or Maybe he is just like Fischer who hated to loose at the chess board, thus forfeiting is not a big deal then :)Originally posted by Peter McKillop View PostOr is the champ just bored with the whole business?
