And there were lots of volunteers for the CYCC, but the Organizers know their names better than I.

IM Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux has been on an amazing hot streak in official CFC events in 2022. He scored an unbeaten 7/9 at the Zonal in Kingston to tie for first, a perfect 7/7 at the CYCC B18 in Hamilton to win, and now 7.5/9 in the Canadian Open, again to tie for first. Across those three events, that makes 21.5/25, without a loss!
Others results of Shawn since the beginning of 2022:

      54TH ANNUAL NY STATE SCHOLASTICS: 5.5/6, 1st=
      Wednesday's tournament (Montreal chess club) 4.5/5 1st
      Chambly Open: 5/5 1st
Choc des générations 4/5 2nd (lost to Bator) - The only proof that he is human ;-)
Another Wednesday's tournament (Montreal chess club): 5/5 1st
Another Wednesday's tournament (Montreal chess club): 4.5/5 1st
Montreal chess club championship: 5/5 1st
      Laval open championship: 4.5/5 1st=

      36 wins, 1 loss, 4 draws in 41 games (38/41)

      Total: 54 wins, 1 loss and 11 draws (59.5/66) for 90,2%!!

I would save some work for Fred McKim. The 3 nominees for the best player in 2022:

      1) Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux
      2) Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux
      3) Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux :-)
