Rd 1 Sam Sevian became the sole leader after round one as he played the French Defence, defended tenaciously and counterattacked mercilessly to haul in the point from Ray Robson.

Nazi Paikidze won a wild game to become sole leader in the Women's.

Andrew Tang already proved his merit after round one with a draw against Sam Shankland.

Alice Lee was resourceful in getting a draw. Rooting for her to do well.

Im getting used to Cristian Chirila as colour commentator with his European charm and mannerisms. He's smooth and actually quite entertaining.

My dream team would be Uncle Yaz, the Fed, and Maurice. Can you imagine the Fed fielding calls? - or doing an interview? - or telling some of his entertaining stories.

Irony: In round one the only win amongst the superstars was the French Defence. Just Wondering would be rolling over in his grave to hear that.

Rd 2 Mysterious game Sevian - Niemann. Sevian never really got his knights coordinated and made alot of repetitive and strange moves and ended up losing.

Mishra - Tang showed a strategical triumph for Mishra with the two bishops playing a large role.

Mishra, the worlds youngest grandmaster beating Karjakhins record at age 12 and now age 14, is showing impressive skills.

Alice Lee showed serious strategical misjudgement (highly unusual) by allowing a queen exchange and horrid pawn structure against Abrahamyan.

                    Also Yip tactically outplayed Yu.
