Shawn RL has arrived at a stellar moment. With a draw today he can obtain his final GM norm and therefore the GM title. A grand moment. Shawn in the tournament so far has only played GM's above 2600. Talk about a high pressure squeeze Caruana did a lot of shifting with his rooks before the exchange into the endgame. Bacrot maybe tried to hard to simplify and probably missed in advance the final moves a7, Ra8 and then Ra6 cutting off the king.
As a reward Caruana moves back into a tie for first.Comment
