            • Vaishali has her own fate in her hands. Last round for all the marbles. A draw gives her at least a tie for first and a spot in the candidates. A little bit of pressure.

              • Nakamura is trying to shake things up with 12...Ng4, a human tacticians move but the computer is not impressed. However its the kind of move I like, thats what knights are supposed to do.

                • Firoujza vs Yakuboev Its witty fireworks in the opening. Gives us something to watch while the others are developing solidly.

                  • What a performance by Vidit, losing the 1st round then finishing with +7 , an amazing feat. Vidit has a Karpov like style, and is undervalued. Great day for the great Indian school, so many young very strong players. Vidit will be in the candidates, this will be a great boost to him.

                    • Vidit with superb bishop and knight play ended up winning with a passed rook pawn.

                      • As Vidit one and the Nakamura game was drawn and Giri took care of Esipenko (he won by making tripled pawns!!)

That means Vidit won the tournament!

                            • Alice Lee got what she wanted - a queen and pawn endgame where she was two pawns up and which she made short work of. She had five hard lessons to think about and lost close to 40 Fide points but she'll be back stronger than ever.

                              • Maghsoodloo played accurate defence and won against Vitiugov which should give him a great finish and tie for third. Excellent result.
