  • I made a mistake Shawn has 3 wins 4 = and 3 losses. A win against the legend Ivanchuck and 2 wins against 2 2630 grandmasters.

    • I really think this is Nakamura's moment to shine. I think the timing is right for him to go for the world championship both his age 36, and his best form and the chance before all these young superstars with strong nerves finally overtake him.

      • Rd 10 Nakamura wins! Im sorry I missed it live (I was busy giving lessons) but what an endgame, bishops of opposite colours but connected g and h pawns. The photogenic moment was 27.R3d7!

        • Vaishali won! Normally continuous queen checks dont do anything for me but I found White's series of queen checks enthralling and the final pin was icing on the cake. What a game!

          • I picked Deac and Vaishali to win but I should have known not to go against Vidit. At least my pick of Vaishali looks good and she sure is on a roll!

                • Esipenko was too much for Maghsoodloo. I had the right instincts about the black square weaknesses but Esipenko's technique was superb.

                  • A very nice win for Shawn. No pressure anymore. No rating calculation, no performance. Nothing. Just chess...

                      • Sevian - Erigaisi The fireworks ending in dueling passed pawns was really something. Erigaisi crisp finish to win.

                        • Niemann vs Giri great entertainment! Anish's great wit often appears at the board and it does again here.

                            • Pia Cramling after an uninspired start with 1 out of 4 has turned on the afterburners with a flaming 5 and a half out of six! and that has earned her a last round pairing against Anna Muzychuk. Imagine that at age 60! Go Pia Go! Never too old!
