After lots of thought Shawn went for it, the "trap" of the knight on the queenside. Its even more complicated in the light of day. I marvel that I could still see most of the complications. Thanks from this fan, Shawn, for the entertainment.

We have Shawn's game, two interesting endgames and a delicious Sicilian this round. A real treat for the fans.

Shawn ended up dominating the board with three minors for a rook. He must have had alot of fun in that game.

Golubeva is easily winning the queen, knight and pawn endgame on the bottom board so the Canadian women should beat Australia.

The other entertainment for me was Le Quang Liem's game against Magnus. Le won a knight, bishop, and rook for queen and several pawns. A big thrill while it lasted

And of course it was entertaining to watch India crush Iran.

The Canadian Women are on board two today playing Hungary, so the spotlight will be on them and they will get more press than usual.

Looks like our Women's Team has a good chance of beating Hungary. One loss but leading by a lot in two games and equal in one game. Possible 2.5 out of 4.

Big win by Shiyam! He sacrificed the exchange for a well advanced passed D-pawn and it paid off big time!

India approached the match with Uzbekistan very cautiously with the attitude defence first! -and they were successful with four fighting draws. A good example of successful defence against an ambitious attack is Sindarov-Pragga.

A big win by Raja! Big wins by Raja and Shiyam mean that Team Canada will at least tie their match.

Shawn could not hold the draw so the match ends up tied.
