Rd 6 Challengers Oro found some desperado knight tactics to win some pawns and then White started to make strange moves like running her king over to the queenside. At the end it was a simple endgame win for Oro as white's king was cutoff.

Some great endgame battles in this round. Pragga vs Wei Yi, Keymer vs Giri, Abdusattarov vs Gukesh, all very interesting.

The Gukesh magic continues. He saved another tough endgame.

Max Warmerdam received a dream position and attack at the hands of Erigaisi. His last move Bf4 came with relish! Erigaisi's rating is taking a nosedive and he's secured last place.

Oro missed tactics and that allowed Nguyen to win easily and tie for first in the Challengers.

Fedoseev stripped Keymer's king and the rest was a dance of delight or torture depending on which side you were on.

Gurel vs Yakubboev It seems a knight on f5 is worth a piece. I'll keep that in mind for the future. Actually Gurel had a backup knight for f5 as well and it paid huge dividends as the attack crashed through.

Rd 7 Svane vs Bulmaga The public were in for a visual treat as both queens went cherry picking for the last half of the game, interspersed with constant threats of perpetual check. However Svane revealed the method in his madness as Bulmaga was under pressure to find exact moves and eventually cracked and allowed a exchange of queens transposing into a winning passed pawn endgame.

Rd 8 Challengers Lu kept pressing Nguyen by tactical means but finally got caught. As a result Nguyen moves into clear first.
