Rd 6 Andy Woodward played the first 24 moves well but then lost the thread and got a good lesson from Magnus on precision.

Rd 7 Final Round Erigaisi vs Woodward

Magnus vs Erdogmus for second place and even a chance for first (depends who wins)

Rd 7 Erigaisi has made several weak moves against Woodward and Woodward had quite the advantage. The fans had huge entertainment watching Erigaisi's king scamper across the board looking for a hidey hole. Woodward missed his opportunity to take advantage of the loose king (although it was not obvious) and traded to an endgame, still with advantage.

Rd7 All four games have gone to the endgame. Magnus deliberately headed there. Abdusattarov also went to the endgame, albeit with some clever tactical tricks in between.
Grandelius and Zhu had some sparring but eventually settled on an endgame.

Rd 7 Magnus nursing a small edge but Erdogmus is playing admirably well to contain him. We are approaching move 50.

Rd 7 Grandelius vs Zhu is an interesting endgmae. White has a passed D-pawn and Black has a passed E pawn. White has the bishop and Black has the knight and there are one pair of rooks on. Its move 44 so still early in the endgame marathon.
