"Game". Not unlike bridge, poker, go, etc.

How are the forestry companies doing under Harper? Are they thriving? I know the answer but do you?
The economy here is great, period.

That's good. Another year and Ontario won't have the money to support Quebec so BC can do it with transfer payments.

Your forestry industry is not great and that's impacting the paper industry as well. With a tree, about half goes into lumber and the rest into pulp and paper and into things like particle board. Not that there's much demand for newsprint these days. Not making lumber, not enough wood chips for the other uses.

I thought you knew this stuff. :)

How many thousands of dollars would you like to bet that the BC economy will still be strong in two years? Put up or shut up.

It's already not strong in the Forestry and pulp and paper industry.

You live there and you don't know this? Check out Catalyst Paper.

Unemployment's down, wages are up, the standard of living is up... only in your ass-backwards liberal spectrum is this bad.

You live in B.C. and you have absolutely no idea what is happening in your forestry industry.

I've made no comment on trees. Which of my claims are you denying? That unemployment's down, that wages are up, or that the standard of living is up?

If a person happens to be involved in the B.C. forestry industry, it's likely unemployment in up and the standard of living down.

I really don't much care what happens in an NDP colony like B.C. or a Conservative colony like Newfoundland. I'd like to see the Conservatives get a majority because I think everyone in Canada should get what Ontario got from Harris and his government, many of whose cabinet ministers are now cabinet ministers in the federal conservative government. B.C. is so insignificant to me I couldn't tell you what government you have there or the name of your Premier. The B.C. business sector, about which you seem to be clueless, I do have some idea about.

Newfoundland and their Conservative Premier is running an ABC campaign against Harper. ABC is Anyone But Conservative. The Conservative Premier of Newfoundland is telling the voters to vote for any party but the Conservatives. He feels Harper and the Conservatives broke a promise and screwed his province. There's a good chance the Conservatives will lose all their seats in that province.

In the riding where I live, last time the Liberal won by more than 11,000 votes. He had more than 50% of the vote. This time the opposition parties have fielded what appear to be weak candidates. Legends in their own minds.

Personally, I'd like to see the incumbent Liberal lose but it's not going to happen.

Ouch, that's just mean. I live in Ontario and I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone else in Canada. We're still trying to recover here.

Possibly that is a tad harsh. :)

I give Dion Zero chance of winning the election. The carbon tax pretty much seals the deal against him. Any industry worth it's salt emits carbon and we're getting short of industry here in Ontario. The only question, barring an act of Gawd, is conservative majority or minority.

Any increase in the price of fuel and a carbon tax has to be added into the price of the product. They have to be competitive with products from countries which subsidize fuel and don't have a carbon tax.

If the Liberals don't change their leader and get some decent policies they will spend more years in the wilderness than did Moses.

If you don't know anything about BC (NDP colony? you = retard?), then why pontificate? It doesn't matter in what industry one is involved; unemployment is down, period. I don't think you understand what an unemployment rate is. It's not a measure of whether or not you're employed; it's a measure of employment among a certain demographic. BC's unemployment rate is down, PERIOD. BC's standard of living is up, PERIOD.

Then B.C. must be completed insulated from any calamity which may hit the rest of Canada and the U.S. Next time B.C. complains about the Softwood Lumber deal and the unfairness of the rules I'll know it's nonsense because you told me so.

Are there lots of McJobs in B.C.?

I've been watching the happiness on TV about the giant bailout of the finacial and mortgage market in the U.S. What an experiment in Socialism! The American government is socializing like Cuba did.

I'm musing about moving to the U.S. I've always liked Public Housing.

Play Correspondence Chess, sit by the pool, drink beer and smoke a Cuban Cigar. All that in Public Housing.

There's been socialism for the rich in the USA since the 1950's. It's only the common poor folks that socialism is bad for. Socialism, of course, took American's to the moon in the 1960's. Strangely, "private enterprise" is yet to get there...
