Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. 2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links

12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.

14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.

The only thing I seen Mr. Plotkin do is complain to Mr. Jin at 2011 OYCC, is that the website is bad and it is a real 'mess'. We all know how successful CYCC was after that comment by Mr. Plotkin.
You are comparing bananas with crops. Yes, Mr.Plotkin was right about the website. It was not as good as a tournament. I may add that the playing hall was not good as a Hart House hall too :p Don't ask how I know it
The idea of this post was to discuss a serious matter this forum. It is unfortunate that it turned out into bunch of personal attacks, as usual.
I have nothing more to say on this matter, as I already stated my reply to Mr. Plotkin regarding this. Now I realize that there is nothing more for me to add to this discussion, as I already stated in my original post.
I apologize, if I offended or caused grief to anyone, but this was intended as simple reply to Mr. Plotkin childish challenge, nothing more.
People can disregard this post and go on ranting, as usual. I will not be posting on this thread. Any personal cheap attacks will simply be ignored.
As far as I see this discussion is closed for me now and I got nothing more to add here.

Many people who got attacked by Egorov decided to dissappear from this site and actually surrender to his aggression. May be it's a smart decision for them, but Egorov can easily find other victims. Now he attacks me and Mark, but I am pretty sure he will choose other persons pretty soon.
Even if I stop responsing now there is no guarantee Egorov will leave us alone. Most likely, not. So what should I do? I will try to fight.

Now about idiots... I never called Egorov an idiot. My proposal to Egorov to play friendly blitz match was to prevent this scenario and using this kind of words. Again, I never characterized Egorov as an idiot.

I don't know who involved Mark first. It's a battle of words. Sorry for believing Egorov's proposal Victor, but as it stands, I am not sure who's right. It's quite clear that you guys began this feud back a little after CYCC. I believe I remember reading some of the discussion, of Egorov pleading to allow Dora play at the WYCC, but nothing beyond that. However, at first I believed it was Egorov who was deliberately attacking Mark. To me, it didn't matter who involved who, just that the fact that he would say such things with such profanity disturbed me. Now he is arguing that you called some of them idiots. This may of caused the urge of retaliation, but without evidence I cannot object on Egorov's behavior.
I did what I did because Mark is a friend. You claim that Egorov is a liar, and Egorov claims differently. My advice is let the evidence be shown, and perhaps the truth may come out. In any case, there needs to be some sort of apology in order, whether it has to do with Mark, or you two, or any of the ordeals associating with the WYCC discussion.

I have nothing to discuss with Mr. Plotkin at any time in the future. It was simply my response to his personal attack on me that is it. If he wishes to go on and continue to insult others I can't stop him from doing so. It is his personal wish.
I did what I had to do and that is to respond to personal attack on me. Now, I have nothing more to add this topic. It is also good to hear that you consider this topic is closed as well. I hope you keep your promise and stay true to your word.

I don't know what to do. I still have to be here for 7.5 hours and I was counting on being caught up in these deep threads. Maybe I'll have to go to a chess site where I can learn something about chess. Or some other entertaining site? Any suggestions?

I also would like to remind to Plotkin and chesstalkers the beginning of few facts.
It all started in January 2011....
We all know, that you are close friend of Mr. Itkin, and Mr. Barron. We all know what happened with CYCC and WYCC and who caused all the mess!
Plotkin does have a right to defend your friends, but it does not give him right to call other people 'idiots'. Just because he finally managed after all this years managed to get FM title at Canadian Closed, does not give him this right.
Plotkin should realize that he is not governing authority.
When was a last time did Mr. Plotkin organized big weekend CFC event.
Did he ever voluntarily donated any money to CFC Youth fund?
Mrs. Jin Daxin organized very successful CYCC in 2011, that brought in $40,000. I would like to see, if you can organize an event that will not bring $40,000 (it might be an impossible task for you), but say $3000.00. After you do that, maybe there will be something to talk about.
Also, I would like to remind Plotkin, that it was very wrong getting his son involved into this. Others are getting very upset, because of his actions.
And you don't call this discrimination, Adam. Yes you are an A-class player. WCM is FIDE approved title, and she earned it by tying for 1st in 2009 North American Championship and not some local weekender tournanent and she was only 8 at that time!

What is NM title anyways? Is it approved by FIDE? Last time I checked it was not!
woah discrimination much? Both my CFC and Fide ratings are above 2000 I believe last time I checked that makes me an expert class player not an A-class.
I honestly don't care if WCM is a Fide approved title, the performance necessary to gain said title is not much higher than A-class. A-class players should not have titles no matter what gender they are. And I'd much rather have the NM title than the WCM title if I was a woman. NMs are simply stronger than WCMs (even if National Master is not a fide-approved title).
Now both sides claim the others brought the kids into this, Plotkin talks about your message to you, do you deny saying that quote he posted of you getting Mark involved? And the audacity of that parent to say Victor doesn't have the 'authority' to use his daughters name is beyond belief.
I simply want to know what the evidence points to, as the truth is all that matters to me (in life, chess and everything).
Now you make a couple notable claims,
1) Plotkin called you and others idiots
2) Plotkin got the kids involved
Do you care to present ANY evidence for these claims, because Plotkin has calmly articulated that 1) He never called you an idiot (if you have a quote by him saying otherwise I'd love to see it. and 2) the quote of you getting Mark involved in all of this (if you care to explain that and show how Plotkin actually got the kids involved with this again I'd love to hear this).
I'm on the side that is backed by evidence, Mr.Egorov show me your evidence and I'll make up my mind on who is in the wrong here.
