    Merci, Felix.

Felix, can you give us some insight into the FQE governance structure?
Are the FQE representatives similar to CFC governors? How many are there, and do they represent a particular region? Will a simple majority be enough to approve the agreement?

Re : CFC and the FQE have come to an agreement!

There is a board of governors constituted of 11 elected members. They are elected by all the FQE members.

        There is the executive:

        President POULIN Marc
        Vice pres. ROUSSEAU Daniel
        Vice pres. LE DUIN Thierry
        Secretary ROY Vital
        Treasurer DESJARDINS Raymond

And representatives for each major region:

        Quebec TREMBLAY Charles
        West LEMYRE Jasmin
        East GRAVEL Éric
        Montreal SASSEVILLE Jean
        North Shore BER Alexandre
        South Shore ROY Michel

For all the details and a map (in French):
        http://www.fqechecs.qc.ca/cms/story/...ure-et-comites

Decisions must be approved at simple majority.

However, while the current board will vote on the agreement on July 19, there should still be some discussion during the AGM on July 22.

Taken from the FQE website :

"Cette entente sera soumise au CA le 29 juillet prochain pour approbation finale."

          Félix,
Could you make a minimum of effort to at least provide basic information correctly ?

            Bob, Bob, Bob...
You already asked those questions in this thread ... and you got answers.
"Who are the governors of the FQE? How many are there?
How does the FQE governance structure work? Similar to CFC?" -Gillanders

How many times are you going to ask the same questions belatedly now that the motion has been voted ? And then you wonder why Spraggett makes fun of you and the CFC...

Thanks for telling me. Apparently there was a typo in one of the articles regarding the agreement. Of course, the correct date is July 19, as there is no meeting on July 29. As mentionned a few times, the vote will take place after the plenary session on July 19.

Jean, Jean, Jean, you never answered my questions!
Instead, you told me to go google myself.
                Thankfully, Felix was more helpful.

How could such a critical mistake lay there for so long is beyond understanding.
It means anyway that the vote will be rushed just days before the president and some other members leave their office, leaving this poisoned legacy to their successors. It would have been much wiser to let the newly elected people decide for themselves according to their new mandate.
At this point it is already quite clear that there is very little support for this deal among FQE members. Do you believe Felix that the CA people should follow the FQE president or the FQE members they should represent ? I am curious to get your opinion on this.

I gave you an answer (and then some...) a few posts below in the same thread :
"The FQE has no governor or anything similar allowing in-depth discussions. Decisions are taken during board meetings by a board made of the executive (five people including the president) and some (7-8?) regional delegates. Since that the executive has already approved the deal, it would take an almost unanimous stand against it from the regional delegates to overturn it. That is very unlikely to happen even though this "support" would only indicate a lack of proper consideration for this rushed and superficial deal."

Apparently you can't "google yourself" and you can't follow a thread properly. Too demanding for you. No doubt, you were uniquely qualified to be CFC prez.

Only one representative will be replaced for the 2012-2014 CA. It's not like if the entire board was going to change...

You might think it's clear that people don't like the agreement, but it's not true. Why would people go on Chesstalk and try to argue with you, all this to receive personal attacks? They prefer to simply send an email, or to call at the FQE, and congratulate the volunteers for their work. Maybe 1% of a thousand members publicly denounced the agreement, and it's pretty much the same people that always criticize everything.

I believe the CA should do what is best for chess in Quebec. No matter what you might think, I am convinced that the agreement is great for all the chess players in Quebec. Very few chess players really care about chess politics. They just want their representatives to ameliorate the services they can have access to. I am sure that our representatives will take the best decision with all the information they have.

It was just spin, and most of the so called "facts" turn out to be incorrect. :(

What about your personal attacks and your condescendant ways to tell people that they don't understand and don't see the "truth" ? Why would people argue with a teenager who is never wrong, knows everything and would rather die than change his mind on anything ?
