Reminds me a lot of all the kids at the Mississauga CC ! lol

Nice to see Rene working hard (and ignoring what must be a lot of commotion).
Best of luck to all the Canadian kids working hard!

Glad to see Harmony bounce back with a win today. She now stands (and Harmony generally stands rather than sits) at 5.5/7. She's still very much in the hunt for gold since she hasn't played 2 of the 3 girls currently ahead of her.

Moreover, she's ahead of the #1 seed, Judit Juhasz (Hungary) on tie-breaks and a 1/2 point ahead of the defending champion and #2 seed, Bibissara Assaubayeva (Azerbaijan).

          As Vlad would say,

          GO HARMONY!

It seems all our players with 5.5/8 won their games. With 2 rounds to go, there's a pretty good chance for a top 10 finish for Qiyu Zhou, Richard Wang and Harmony Zhu all with 6.5/9.

I don't think Canada has ever had three contenders at this stage of the WYCC ever before? Gets tough in the final rounds, but good luck to all of them......

                          Re: Wycc 2012

In 2001, Canada sent a small team ( maybe 14 players ) and three players were in contention throughout the event. Round 10 was extremely exciting because Canada won almost every game they played.

More recently, we seem to always have at least two contendors late ( correction - apparently quite a few last year ).

I'd like to note that 3 of the 5 were at one time, juniors at the Scarborough CC: Taylor, Yuanchen and Michael ( Bronze Medal ).

This year 2 of the 28 are from SCC: Harmony Zhu ( also plays at Annex CC ) and Kajan Thanabalachandran.

We're quite proud of our juniors, and how they develop in the open swiss tournaments at SCC.
