  • Mexico UNAM Festival

I'm currently at the Toronto International Airport, waiting for my flight to leave in 1.5 hours nonstop to Mexico. Both Eric Hansen and myself will be competing in the Mexico UNAM Open II.

The list of participants is here (not sure why neither of us are included on it, but its just been released yesterday)

The official website is www.ajedrezunam.mx and it has had live broadcasts of all the women's games so far, but I'm not sure what coverage is planned for the Open section. The tournament is 9 rounds played from the 21st-25th November.

I believe A. Botez and L. Orlova also join the open section if they get knocked out of the female tournament's preliminary stage which ends today.

It it inversely proportional to a CAN number of players in the tournament. The probability increases when players are with different titles. Though Aman has good chances to kick Eric for his funny stealing monkeys :D

      Good luck to both.

This morning, the revised list of participants still omits Aman and Eric, but Orlova and Botez are now listed... Hope you all have a good tournament.

Eric's game is now live but Aman wasn't even listed in the round 1 pairings.

                            No, it shows Aman in a 13-way tie for 2nd after 4 rounds. He has 3 1/2 - 1/2!
He plays on board 4 at 3 pm tomorrow against a GM (no problem!):)
