I was talking about transferring CFC rated points to FIDE...

Rd 10 Rejkjavik (final round) Eric finishes = 2nd with a draw. The game with GM Olaffson as Black is a Petroff Defence (Russian Defence) and reaches an interesting endgame where Eric doesnt have enough to win.

Thanks to Wayne for posting all the excellent games in his World Championship Rapid and Blitz thread. I also enjoyed Naka's win over Moro and Aronian - Naka which ended in zugzwang. (amongst many others)

http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1780313 Great positional chess with lots of excitement at the end. (I know its rapid or active but I still enjoyed it a lot!)

Eric actually just blundered with 27...Rxd5. Instead, ...axb6 and 1/2-1/2

Re: Ive been enjoying Eric Hansen games

Chess can be so hard to play. In Gibraltar Ive enjoyed watching GM Eric walk a tight rope on the board and he always seems to be missing winning advantages by one square. (evidenced by his play in rds 2 to 6) He finally beats a GM http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1783699 by use of gritty tactics. Hard work!

Re: Ive been enjoying Eric Hansen games

I was looking forward to the last round matchup of GM Hansen and GM Troff, two of my favorite players. Yes it was a slugfest but no I would never have predicted a draw (which was the result). Chess can be a tough game to play.
