        CT 3rd Move??

I vote for 3.f4 ( 3.Nc3 will lead to a pin on 3...Bb4, and I prefer not to play that ).

But if they play 3...Bb4, wouldn't that mean that g6 had just created possible kingside weaknesses? I would lean towards 3 Nc3.

Does the Bishop jump e7 and d6 pawns?

              Vote Nc3.

                Hi Alan:

I don't understand your point. If we play 3.Nc3, Bl can play 3...Bb4. It doesn't have to jump any pawns. e7 is open for it to use the diagonal. You seem to be referring to the c8B. I'm referring to the f8B. I'd prefer 3.f4 to avoid going into the standard Q-side pin. Or am I missing something here?

3.Nc3 seems to be okay here for me.

But on f4 they could play d5.

And then, Nc3 will lead to a pin
e5 to a very closed game that they could open when they want by c5,
and exd5 will simply lead to a boring game

                    I vote for c4.

                      3. Nc3 has the most votes, it is the move selected.

I vote 4.h4 - let's play aggressive ( By my Fritz 10 program ( at depth 18 ) this is the third choice of Fritz, by a very thin margin - I assume we are looking at recommendations from our silicon friends ).

I'd vote 4 f4 to try to completely take over the centre, although I'm not familiar with this opening system. Wold that be a decent idea?

                                Hi Jason:

I find 4....Qh4+ a bit of a pain in that line. 5.g3 is a full answer, but the K-side is looking pretty airy for our K. Any other ideas on Jason's proposed move ( for or against? ). I still like 4.h4.
