In the women's Jennifer Yu, Alice Lee, and Megan Lee have started with perfect scores (2 out of 2). Jennifer Yu won the last over the board championship in 2019 with 10 out of 11.
Alice Lee is only 13 and has beaten two of the top players so far. Alice Lee and Megan Lee provide a big upset factor in the field and make the tournament much more interesting.Comment

Rd 3 action - Christopher Yoo had a second nice win finishing with a queen sacrifice to promote a passed pawn and is now temporarily tied for the lead with Hans Niemann. However Sam Sevian is in the drivers seat against Levon Aronian so lets see if he can pull out a win. Caruana missed a winning Rxe5 and took the wrong pawn with Qxc7 leaving him with lots of work to do in the endgame.Comment

Rd 3 Caruana persevered and won so that leaves Caruana, Niemann, Sevian and Yoo tied for first with 2 out of 3 (+1). Levon Aronian held a critcal half point against Sam Sevian in the endgame to keep the field tight. What tension! Great tournament!Comment

After 4 rounds in the womens Tatev Abrahamyan is on a roll after her second consecutive win against Sabina Foisor. She's tied for first with Jennifer Yu and Alice Lee, all with three points. Alice Lee played for a study like win in a bishop of opposite colour endgame (with rooks) but was not successful. Still amazing determination and tactical vision for a thirteen year old.Comment
