What a match, Ding was close to to toasted but held down and Nepo collapsed making a series of bad moves going from a clearly superior position to a lost one . This is, to me a great match with fighting and uncompromising chess, it is going down to the wire perhaps in rapids and blitz.

Thanks for the clarification Hugh, yes 14 game match - so definitely exciting finish with two games to go. ( I must have been half asleep when I wrote what I did previously)

Game 13 Quite the struggle and great piece play! Ends in draw but two moves from the end White could have played Rc2 (probably not a good move) which is aesthetically pleasing - all pieces lined up on the C-file. I really enjoyed that game.

Game 14 It all comes down to a rook and pawn endgame where Nepo is a passed rook pawn up. Can Ding hold the draw? If so there will be playoffs.

Game 14 Ding hung tough for 50 moves in the endgame to get the draw he needed. The match is headed into playoffs.

Here are the playoff rules (first game starts at 5 am EDT):- A four-game rapid playoff with a 25+10 time control. A drawing of lots decides which player starts with White.
- If the tie persists, the players contest a two-game playoff with a 5+3 time control. A drawing of lots decides which player starts with White.
- If the tie persists, players contest another two-game playoff with a 5+3 time control. A drawing of lots once more decides which player starts with White.
- If still tied, players play 3+2 games until there is a winner. A drawing of lots once more decides who starts with White, with colors alternating after each game.

I always used to watch games of importance on ChessBomb.....but I believe it has gone defunct.
What website is now best for watching?

All playoff action takes place the same day. Chessbomb only exists just to forward you to chess dot com, which has good live analysis.

Some say Magnus has "resigned" his title.....as far as I know, he has only indicated he would not "defend" his title. Has he written to FIDE that he is "resigning" the FIDE World Chess Champion Title?
If he has not formally and officially resigned, must FIDE officially "strip" Magnus of the title (As I believe they did with Fischer)?
If FIDE does this, then my protocol will be:
Magnus is "The Best Chess Player".
Ian or Ding (Is this the surname or first name?) is the FIDE World Champion.
