Rd 2 In the challengers Beukema solved the problem of his F-flile buildup being stymied by sacrificing a rook on F5 and then his attack crashed through.

Korobov's opponent spent too much time trying to trap his bishop and allowed Korobovs remaining pieces too much activity.

Rd 3 Ju Wenjun has been getting good positions in her games but missing key continuations. Todays game she should have continued with 33.e6 and an edge. Instead she overlooked some admittedly nice tactics and lost.

Rd 3 Giri played many witty points and eventually the position became overwhelming.

Firoujza the sole leader after round 2 met his match in rd 3 against Warmerdam. Warmerdam was never in any trouble and eventually simplified to draw.

Rd 3 Erwin L'Ami played a nice endgame cutting off the black king to score his first win and earn him a tie for first. Six way tie for first in the challengers with 2 out of 3.

Rd 4 Firoujza Abdusattarov first to finish = draw. Abdusattarov certainly tried to spice it up but Firoujza was up to the task.

With that draw the spotlight has shifted to the Giri Gukesh game. Computer eval has Giri with a big plus but I dont believe it.

Rd 4 Warmerdam Ju - White is a strong attacking player but surprisingly Black was more active. Its like they were playing with styles reversed. Net result draw.
