  • This is huge Dutch farmers are STILL protesting in the Netherlands. The government planned to SEIZE 3000 farms to meet 2030 climate goals essentially. The World is rising against Climate Communism.

    • Victory for Europe's protesting farmers as Brussels backs down on net zero

      Ursula von der Leyen offers further concession by dropping her controversial proposal to halve pesticide use within six years

      The European Union has caved in to angry protests from farmers, cutting its target to scrap specific agricultural emissions which formed part of the bloc’s net zero drive.

      A demand to reduce nitrogen, methane and other emissions linked to farming by almost a third has been removed from a wider Brussels plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 90 per cent by 2040.

      On Tuesday, Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission president, offered a further concession to demonstrating farmers by dropping her controversial proposal to halve pesticide use within six years.

      A recommendation urging EU citizens to eat less meat was also removed from the plan.

      The concessions came amid mounting demonstrations by farmers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Romania ahead of this year’s EU elections.

      Spanish farmers on Tuesday joined the movement by blockading major highways with convoys of tractors and burning tyres.

      Meanwhile, blockades on supermarket distribution centres have left shelves empty in Brussels, while several people have been injured in traffic accidents caused by farmers’ protests in the Netherlands, as they dumped rubbish and set fires on highways.

      Organisers have threatened to continue disruption in the lead-up to the European Parliament elections in June.

      The plight of the disillusioned farmers has become politically symbolic ahead of the vote.

      To quell their angry protests, which have sometimes become violent and caused destruction to cities, Mrs von der Leyen acknowledged net zero rules targeting farmers would need to be watered down.

      Our farmers deserve to be listened to,” she told the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday.

      “I know that they are worried about the future of agriculture and their future as farmers.

      “But they also know that agriculture needs to move to a more sustainable model of production so that their farms remain profitable in the years to come.”

      The Commission president admitted the proposal to cut pesticide use had become a “symbol of polarisation”.

      Brussels is also rowing back on planned rules on animal welfare and allowing the cultivation of land left fallow to restore nature.

      The reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions was seen as a key pillar of the EU’s climate change strategy, which sparked the initial wave of farming protests in the Netherlands over the summer of 2022.

      The target means farmers will be required to reduce their livestock in order to meet the binding limit on emissions.

      Mrs von der Leyen has also tried to get farmers on side by announcing a series of “strategic dialogues” to allow them to voice their concerns directly to EU bureaucrats.
      Mounting pressure

      Her effort to placate the farmers came after mounting pressure from political allies ahead of the European parliamentary elections.

      Manfred Weber, a German MEP and leader of the centre-Right European Political Party, from which Mrs Von der Leyen is a member, warned farming communities could shift their allegiances to hard-Right parties at the ballot.

      “We always realised that farmers are citizens and don’t want Left-wing ideologies that dictate everything to them,” he told the European Parliament on Tuesday.

      In a letter to the Commission, the Parliament’s Green group said the farmers’ protest movement was “no surprise to us”.

      “The root of the problem is clear: the majority of farmers simply cannot make a living from their work,” they wrote. “They are trapped in a system that is killing them.”

      The Greens also called for Brussels to halt trade talks with South America’s Mercosur bloc, with competition from cheap non-EU products a chief concern amongst farmers.

      Maros Sefcovic, a Commission vice-president, said the publication of the bloc’s landmark plan to cut emissions by 90 per cent by 2040 came at a “crucial moment in the debate around the future path of Europe’s green transition”.

      “We do recognise the legitimate concerns of citizens and industry over the cost of transition,” he added.

        Purpose: To slow and stop Negative Climate Change/To generate Positive Climate Change to Restore Nature's Balance

        Maros Sefcovic, a Commission vice-president, [European Union]: “We do recognise the legitimate concerns of citizens and industry over the cost of transition.”

        According to this, European "Transition" is intended to continue.

        But....

        it will be done in such a way that the "Cost of Transition" is borne relatively equally by the various sectors of the economy.

        Thus the legitimate concerns of the farm sector that they were being asked to bear an unfair amount of the transition cost were recognized.

        It is up to the EU, and all countries, to effect the transition fairly and place the relative costs where they should be borne.

        It is not in doubt that "Transition", now that we have degraded our environment to the extent we have, will cost.

          Sorry Bob, but if it was not for the fact that these farmers almost put the EU parliament under siege, these subhumans would have been quite content to induce
          a manmade famine. They had no compunction to panic the world into making sure all roads led to toxic mass 'injections"after being partners in committing an act of bioterrorism and suppressing simple repurposed, safe and effective drugs, and now they are at it again with their "transition" to famine. on the basis of a "climate emergency" caused by CO2 Methane and Nitrous oxide emissions with no definitive proof. Solar activity is the driver of climate change, and I have countless posts here that prove it. If I know that, for sure, these monsters know it as well.
          I have posted about the famine in Sri Lanka as an example of what these WEF monsters are doing;

          You are on the wrong side of history, and the siege of Europe by heroic farmers and now truckers has not ended! The Genocidal Nazi WEF, communist climate change scammers, will not prevail. There are eight billion of us, and at most 100,000 of them.

          Spanish farmers have now joined the European protests against climate change communism.

          • Iceland & Negative Climate Change

            "Iceland uses remarkably few fossil fuels to power its economy and heat its homes. Instead, 85 percent of the country’s energy comes from domestically produced renewables, primarily geothermal power and hydropower.......

            Geothermal power also produces about 20 percent of the country’s electricity......

            One of its glaciers, Okjokull, has completely melted away. Over the next 200 years, scientists expect the rest — including the massive Vatnajokull glacier, which covers some 3,000 square miles — to disappear as well....

            ...like all coastal cities around the world, Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik, is threatened by rising sea levels."

                Data Shows We’re NOT Seeing Record Heat

                by Gregory Wrightstone

                Hotter Than the Fourth of July!

                It was widely reported recently that July 4th, 2023 was the hottest day in Earth’s recorded history.

                Paulo Ceppi, a climate scientist at London’s Grantham Institute stated: “It hasn’t been this warm since at least 125,000 years ago, which was the previous interglacial.” And, of course, it was reported that it was our fault due to our “sins of emission.”

                This didn’t meet the smell test for the scientists at the CO2 Coalition. We know that previous warm periods were warmer than our modern temperatures. For example, during the Roman Warm Period there was citrus being grown in the north of England and barley was grown by Vikings on Greenland 1,000 years ago. Why aren’t they grown there now? It’s quite simple: Lower modern temperatures.

                So, here at the CO2 Coalition, we did what scientists are trained to do:

                We looked at the available data. Our Science and Research Associate Byron Soepyan reviewed temperature data from the US Historical Climatology Network and found that both the number of weather stations reporting temperature over 100 degrees F and the Maximum Average Temperature for July 4th were slightly declining since the record began in 1895 – not increasing – as Ceppi claimed.

                The Great Texas Heat Wave

                It is summer. It is hot in Texas. It is not unusual or unprecedented. Below is a chart of the percentage of days in Texas that were above 100 degrees Fahrenheit since 1895. Despite a significant and steady rise in CO2 emissions, there has been a decline in the occurrence of very hot days.

                Gregory Wrightstone is a geologist; executive director of the CO2 Coalition, Arlington, VA; and author of Inconvenient Facts: The Science That Al Gore Doesn’t Want You to Know.

                    This is a somewhat unique thread, says its originator.

                    It is my understanding that both Anthropogenicists and Naturalists agree:

                    Statement # 1 - Negative Climate Change is currently occurring.

                    However they disagree on almost everything else:

                    1. Rate of negative climate change;
                    2. Causes of negative climate change;
                    3. the scientific "how" of negative climate change;
                    4. the projected consequences and timeline of this negative climate change.
                    5. whether there is any "crisis"

                    In this thread so far, it has appeared that both sides claim to have science on their side (With disputes about how many scientists are on each side, the type of scientists, and the qualifications of each other's scientists).

                    Both sides have impressive credentials for their scientists and their "expert" reports. Both sides have a multiplicity of impressive looking graphs with many multiple lines across them.

                    So we cannot say there is a dearth of material to go through.

                    But, admittedly, it can be hard to compare charts which seem to be dealing with something from slightly different perspectives. It can be difficult to evaluate the worth of the attacks on various scientists' credentials.

                    We even have expert reports on glaciers: one says they are melting; the other says they are NOT melting.

                    Whoa....how can both be true? Is it possible they both are.....but they're viewing glaciers from somewhat different perspectives, and the meaning of "melting" is in dispute?

                    Anyway, to conclude, this thread has served the very good purpose of presenting CT viewers a wealth of conflicting material, among which to determine the truth as THEY see it.

                    And we know many are reading only.....for many reasons, though, they are hesitant to make a public commitment on their view, or they simply have not yet come to conclusions, given the overwhelming amount of material, and the extent of opposition. This is fine.

                    That there may be few drivers of the thread (Posters), as long as they are presenting ongoing evidence supporting their view, this thread is worthwhile.

                        • The World Economic Forum touts 'carbon removal plants'—each of which removes five million tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere each year—as "crucial to meeting global climate goals", despite the fact that CO2 currently makes up just 0.04% of the atmosphere, and if it drops to half of that, all plant life—and thus all animal and human life—will perish.
