          Not that simple Bob.

"Nietzsche, the Godfather of Fascism? What can Nietzsche have in common with this murderous ideology? Frequently described as the “radical aristocrat” of the spirit, Nietzsche abhorred mass culture and strove to cultivate an Übermensch endowed with exceptional mental qualities. What can such a thinker have in common with the fascistic manipulation of the masses for chauvinistic goals that crushed the autonomy of the individual?

The question that lies at the heart of this collection is how Nietzsche came to acquire the deadly “honor” of being considered the philosopher of the Third Reich and whether such claims had any justification. Does it make any sense to hold him in some way responsible for the horrors of Auschwitz?

There is much that is disturbingly antiegalitarian and antidemocratic in Nietzsche, and his writings on Jews are open to differing interpretations. Yet his emphasis on individualism and contempt for German nationalism and anti-Semitism put him at stark odds with Nazi ideology.

The Nietzsche that emerges here is a tragic prophet of the spiritual vacuum that produced the twentieth century’s totalitarian movements, the thinker who best diagnosed the pathologies of fin-de-siècle European culture. Nietzsche dared to look into the abyss of modern nihilism. This book tells us what he found.

            Global Warming

"The world remained firmly in warming’s grip last year, with extreme summer temperatures in Europe, China and elsewhere contributing to 2022 being the fifth-hottest year on record, European climate researchers said on Tuesday.

The eight warmest years on record have now occurred since 2014, the scientists, from the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service, reported, and 2016 remains the hottest year ever.

Overall, the world is now 1.2 degrees Celsius (2.1 degrees Fahrenheit) hotter than it was in the second half of the 19th century, when emissions of planet-warming carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels became widespread."

This is not just a long-term "natural" warming cycle as far as the mainstream literature seems to go.

ig Oil you say. Those your words?

Yes yes, Exxon has cast a dark shadow, but this is very old. Is Exxon even in existence? Did Exxon break the law? So they were ahead of the gov't scientists. You could say the same thing about the tobacco companies and their early cancer research. The gov't makes the laws, the corporation maximizes profits within the law, and I the shareholder reap the profits. The suits all make big salaries, assigned probably by a board of directors that are voted in by me. Sounds like a pretty good system. Call me a capitalist dog or whatever you want. I buy stock to put into my rrsp, then I want to make as much money as possible.

I can well imagine there are stories about the water quality of the great lakes in the '70s, and companies that caused environmental damage. Laws were broken, corporations were fined, profits dropped for a while, I foot the bill. Maybe it's my fault for funding the corporation. Owner's responsibility. But look what was done in the area of environmental legislation since that time, and now the water quality of the great lakes is much better

                      Climate Migrants?

                      Coming Soon to near You!

"Unprecedented heat, drought, and wildfires caused chaos and misery across the once temperate British Isles this year, as climate change made its impacts felt beyond the mid-latitudes. Across the channel, Europe’s formerly pleasant Mediterranean climate has for some years been plagued by dangerous blazes, smoke, heat, floods and, recently, collapsing glaciers. The United States, too, is perpetually dealing with extreme events somewhere in the country—and often several at once. When fires blaze out of control, floods swamp communities, storms flatten buildings, or smoke makes the air unbreathable, people have to flee their homes. Tens of thousands were evacuated from the Gironde region of France in just one week in July, the same month that massive evacuations were ordered in California and Kentucky. After each disaster, people return to rebuild and adapt, or they move permanently somewhere safer. In poorer countries, closer to the equator, the situation is much worse. Increasingly, people cannot return, they cannot adapt. They have to move. In 2023 the issue will become impossible to ignore."

Oh, sure, and it's all caused by CO2 emissions, and climate change has never occurred before? Are you ok Bob?

                        • I think the bigger problem than CO2 is methane, no?

The fact that climate change has occurred before does not help with what we are experiencing today. Regardless of anything, the consequences are being felt.

No, Methane is a tiny percentage of the man-made CO2 that, in turn, is a tiny percentage of the total CO2, which is a small fraction of the overall greenhouse gases. Climate change, negative e or positive, is no different now than in the past. My postings on this thread already prove that, but you tend to ignore them or don't read them, which is it? Your typical response is "I will study it and get back to you" but you never do.
Instead, you post the same nonsense over and over again. By the way "climate change happens over tens of thousands of years. The only change you will see in your lifetime is seasonal.
Remarkably, you do believe the WEF is a global force that is doing terrible things, and yet you think the climate change agenda replete with disrupting the food supply and the energy supply totally without justification is something they are doing in the name of altruism. You want to be a frightened sheep it is your life.

                              • Re Sid's Post # 1063 Above

Sid - I do read some of the information you post (I simply do not have time to read it all - I have a life outside of NACC!).

But I also do a bit of research, when I can, and come up with information that conflicts with what you post.

The issue in this thread is not that one side or the other should stop posting the science they believe to be correct. The point is for both sides to post what they think is most relevant, whether supportive of their position, or against it.

Then let CT'ers decide, based on a good winnowed sampling of both sides of the debate.

I think we are achieving that here. I'm sure there are some here who have been greatly educated by your posts, including me. But that does not mean that I am foregoing the mainstream scientific evidence. I still have a clear position..........but you have made me see that the "Negative Natural Climate Change" position is sophisticated, and can bring forth science on its behalf (Though almost always it is minority science).

And, NO, I am not satisfied yet as to the connection between "The Climate Change Crisis" and the "New World Order", a reality on which the two of us seem to agree......and that it is NOT just a "conspiracy theory".

I see a certain logical connection in your argument, but I am unconvinced re the on-the-ground reality of:

"Climate Change Hysteria is one of the tools the "Higher Authority" is using, to incrementally consolidate one world domination".

                                1. What elements are involved in greenhouse gases?

The main gases responsible for the greenhouse effect include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapor (which all occur naturally), and fluorinated gases (which are synthetic). Greenhouse gases have different chemical properties and are removed from the atmosphere, over time, by different processes.

                                Greenhouse Effect 101 - NRDC

                                2. What are the 3 main contributors of the greenhouse effect?

In descending order, the gases that contribute most to the Earth's greenhouse effect are: water vapour (H2O) carbon dioxide (CO2) nitrous oxide(N2O)
