  • Rd 10 Pragga has the misfortune of playing Vidit, who has white but exhibits fine patience and has a fine defensive position. A promising positional battle is shaping.

    • Rd 10 Warmerdam vs Abdusattarov Fascinating game. Abdusattarov is on fire but Warmerdam isnt backing off any. What do you do against the Queen's Gambit? You accept it of course. And then you put f5 and b5 out there for your opponent to challenge. At least thats Abdusattorov's solution. Warmerdam has grabbed the bull by the horns but he has pawn fragments and positional minuses.

      • Im a little disapointed in Giri. I expected more than just a Queens Gambit, but finally move 28...d4, however is it enough for advantage? Computer indicates equal.

        • Rd 10 In the challengers Vrolijk vs Korobov. It looks like white got confused in mid calculation. Korobov seizes his chance and now has a plethora of pawns for a piece.

                  • Rd 10 Challengers results When Roebers played 33.Qg1 I winced and sure enough the end was near. The white king was too open and Maurizzi had no trouble hunting it down. Maurizzi wins and is in the clear lead by a point.

                    • Hans Niemann Mendonca was also entertaining. Mendonca's king's knight maybe 40 moves! in the game (it exhausted me just counting them!) and spent a long time on c5 as a strong knight. Hans spent a long time trying to win the game. 112 moves! to no avail. Draw.
