Gary, thanks for the link to the article on extreme weather; I will need to investigate the source papers that it is based on as it pertains directly to some of my work. Thanks again.

Regarding solar, if you have a south facing roof make sure you laden it with panels before the microFIT program reduces the payments...

Paul, I don't know if you've seen this article. I found it interesting.

Now, on the topic of solar, you might recall I mentioned a company which is into that area along with their other business divisions. It seems the solar part of the business is money losing and drawing down on the profits of the company. They are having problems in France, or so I understand, and subsidies after the next Ontario election are not a sure thing.

According to the information to shareholders, they are in the process of either selling the solar division or they will spin it off as a separate company to their existing shareholders.

Or, they will claim it feels warmer because it's a dry cold. :)

They sure don't show pictures of open water in those temperatures.

In the meantime here's the weather in Whale Cove. It's in Nanuvat, you know, and it's reality.

    Whale Cove, Canada
    SEVERE WEATHER ALERT
    Forecast Details:
Mostly cloudy and windy. Snow flurries and a few snow showers. Cold. Extreme wind chills may approach -65F. High around -30F. Winds NNW at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of snow 40%

Poor Gary; he has lost his marbles. The only value in any of his posts is humor; and he absolutely must have the last word.

From this guy Tom who posted a comment on WikiLeaks oil post that I made today on Facebook:

"Two things I have learned to NOT debate is Peak Oil and Climate Change. You will never convince a denier that their belief is incorrect no matter how much data you present to them that they are wrong. This is because theirs is a belief based view of both situations and not a fact based one.

One thing I have noticed is that in most cases if you discuss it with them enough, is you'll find that the main reasons they are really denying both facts are:

1). They don't want their taxes to go up.
2). They don't want their lifestyles to change.

So it is going to be interesting to see how tortured their logic will become as they continue to try and rationalize away decreasing oil production, and the resulting sky rocketing prices, and climate disasters.

Maybe they'll realize something is up, when some good old boys are standing knee deep in sea water at a gas station that used to be a half mile from the ocean in Charleston SC. And they are pumping $15/gallon gas into their pickups, on a balmy 125 degree day in late May.

Or will they continue to think both are still liberal conspiracies? Stay tuned..."

My guess is that they will still think both are liberal conspiracies...

That clip also lacked truth. It is not every scientist in the world who subscribes to the whole global warming cabal's orthodoxy and dogma. They will do their best to discredit and black ball anyone who opposes their nonsense. They got caught in many lies and though their special investigations of the climategate emails found no wrong doing the rest of the world is not nearly so gullible. There are no pots of gold anymore at the end of the global warming rainbow (well maybe in Ontario until the government Liberals are handed their well deserved walking papers). This whole thing was just another UN power and money grab. It failed. Get over it.

I don't see what a foul mouthed analysis by a comedian has to do with the issue. I don't know who writes his jokes but the way he laughed while delivering them it appeared it might be the first time he saw them. New to him.

I'm as much an expert on your CFC presidency as you are on climate change. You see, I read Kevin's blog and he tells me. Hell, he tells the world and it's funnier than that clip you posted.

In the end the voters will decide and from that clip it would appear those voters are turning against the movement.

I think our natural resources are pretty much what's keeping our dollar high. Close down those industries and the government would have a hard time getting enough money to run the country, as far as I can see. When Alberta raised the royalty rate and the companies headed for greener pastures it didn't take long for activity and income to slow down. Alberta has reversed that to some extent and the Premier is now stepping down.

I don't take the Bloc seriously on closing down resources for green policy. Somehow I can't imagine them telling their voters there is no money for the social programs because of such a policy.

I'm starting to think buying stock in natural gas exploration and production companies is a mugs game.

Big oil would have to have pretty deep pockets to be concerned with paying us to keep those pesky climate change people in check here. Its not like the climate change/chicken little faction is particularly effective in promoting their flawed point of view or anything.

I thought it might have been the final stages of Climate Change Psychosis.

Coal is a big resource for Canada. Metalurgical coal (Met Coal) is mostly used for making steel and exported. Thermal Coal is mostly used for making electricity. Much is used here in Canada and also exported.

Those industries tend to have strong unions and be good paying. So there isn't too much action to stop the industries involved in polluting.

Probably the people being upset with the subsidies for solar energy is causing some concern for the movement. So we do know who is funded.
