Caldas Novas is GMT-02:00h? So round 1 is set to start in 5 min? Who has a link for live games? Liza is playing board 1 in Women's U18 against Russian WGM Alina Kashlinskaya (Elo 2377).

        Re: Wycc 2011

Canadians not only on bd 1 in Girls' U18 (Liza Orlova!), but on bds 1 and 2 in U16 (David Zhang and Konstantin Semianiuk!) and on bd 2 in U8 Open (Frank Wang!)

        Tough pairings... Go, Canada!

            Re: Wycc 2011

The WYCC website seems to be having a little trouble getting everything organised... some of the pairings are not yet posted, and the round started a couple of hours ago.

No doubt everything will work out in the fullness of time.

I look forward to seeing the results, and reading the Canadian blog.

                  Sergey Noritsyn also won.
Rohan Talukdar lost to a player from USA after a double blunder in a drawish ending.

Is great to see the moves, but I would wait until the WYCC is over before posting them. Why help the future opponents to prepare against our Canadian players?

Maybe just the end game with a starting position will suffice for now.

                    Go Canada!

After a Very hard travel day ... and then to be met with numerous accommodation problems ... the early results appear to have the Canadians coming out of the gates swinging!

Lots of wins already posted! :D:D:D

                        GO TEAM CANADA!!!

FM Laceste won his round 1 game against Samarakoon and will face GM Fedoseev Vladimir (2nd seed in the U18 Open Section) in round 2. Good luck to FM Laceste.

And Good Luck to the rest of the Canadian Team! Go Canada Go!
