BTW, someone emailed me that internet access at the site is really terrible, so the live games may not be very lively. :(

I see Qiyu Zhou is also on the top board against 2092 Murtado of India. The Open U12 features another Indian prodigy Chithambaram Vr Aravindh at 2262. Earlier this year he won the Indian Junior championship! Some big hopes are being pinned on him.

Qiyu Zhou beats top seed Girls U12!

Very nice game by Qiyu, even if her opponent blundered at Q for Rook.

For those who missed it, Ottawa's Qiyu Zhou met and soundly defeated the pretournament favourite, Goa's prodigy Furtado, in round two of the WYCC. A very impressive game against a women's fide master.

Re: Wycc 2011-Qiyu wins against Furtado

Perhaps today is a double round? Qiyu is on Board 3 for the 4th round against an Azeri WCM, and I believe she has our only perfect score. Robert Hamilton showed me a few of her games from her last EOCA tournament (Seaway Valley?) - very impressive. She appears to have grown a new gear! Razvan and Sergey both drew, and sit at 2.5.

Oops - Chiku-Ratte is also perfect in the U12 Open, and Michael Song sits at 2.5 in the same section. So our U12 lads have scored 8/9 so far!

Chiku-Ratte first to score 4 points

Olivier Kenta Chiku-Ratte has scored another win today - his 4th in as many rounds. Sole posession of first place for the moment! The results are starting to populate the pairing sheets on Chess-Results.com
