    ChessForums.org has moved 19. Qxb7.

    1. d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 d6 5.Nf3 0-0 6.Be2 e5 7. 0-0 Nc6 8. Be3 Ng4 9.Bg5 f6 10. Bh4 g5 11. Bg3 f5 12. exf5 exd4 13. Nxd4 Nxd4 14. Bxg4 Bxf5 15. Bxf5 Nxf5 16. Ne4 Bd4 17. Qb3 h5 18. h3 c5 19. Qxb7

Brick walls hurt, but are effective for banging against repeatedly. For future reference, cardboard walls are fun too :)

      Hi Alex:

I'm having trouble finding your last post. My screen only shows 4 pages of posts in this thread, but that only takes me to December 2009 or January 2010. I saw your last post initially when it was flagged for me, but now I can't find it.

What am I doing wrong that I can't find anything beyond January?

      Help.

      Bob

I vote 19...d5. We can get rid of the backward pawn, and if they capture it, I think we can win back their Pawn that will be on d5 then.

Also, we can likely get at the b2P when we attack the Q with ....Rb8.

          Hi Alex D.:

It's OK now. I found the " futher replies " post, and got to the new pages. I have your post again now.

              I beg to disagree. I vote for 19...Rf7, w/ plan of ...Ne7-f5-e7-f5, ..h4, Ne7-f5-e7-f5-g3:)

                • Re: Chess Forums (UK) vs Chess Talk (Canada) - Who's Move?

I have in my game record that the last move was by the UK - 19.Qxb7.

Am I right on this?? Is it still our move? Or did we move as Black, and I missed it somehow?

Can someone confirm what move we are at, and who's move it is?

                  Thanks.

We are still waiting on your 19th move.
                    The current votes:

                    2 votes for 19. ...d5
                    1 sarcastic vote for 19. ...Rf7

                      Hi Alex:

I imagine I already voted, but if not, I vote 19...d5.

After this length of time, I think you better just go with our 2 ( or 3 ) votes for 19...d5 as our final decision. UK has been waiting much too long for us to finalize our move.

I guess I was waiting to see if David was really going to vote for 19. ...Rf7.

                        I'll post 19. ...d5.

So apparently Chessforums.org decided on 20. Bc7 in September without letting me know. Rather confusing, but I'll go ahead with it.

                          1. d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 d6 5.Nf3 0-0 6.Be2 e5 7. 0-0 Nc6 8. Be3 Ng4 9.Bg5 f6 10. Bh4 g5 11. Bg3 f5 12. exf5 exd4 13. Nxd4 Nxd4 14. Bxg4 Bxf5 15. Bxf5 Nxf5 16. Ne4 Bd4 17. Qb3 h5 18. h3 c5 19. Qxb7 d5 20. Bc7

20...Rf7 - going to be a complicated set of exchanges here.

Their N is hanging, but with the queen attacked we can't take it. Rf7 leads to Qxd5 Qxd5 cxd5 Rxc7 N-any, and we're up a bishop.

or Bxd8 Rxb7 and both B and N hang, so we win one. Does white have a good response to Rf7?

Well, it doesn't lose material, so comparatively it's a good move. But I'm not telling ;)
