General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
Paragat, the problem is not the virus it is Big Pharma corrupted Government-sponsored murderers. The evolution of the virus is a random event where a more virulent
variant may appear briefly but ultimately viruses will always evolve to a less virulent form. That being said many efficacious early interventions exist and even good late-stage interventions such as Ivermectin are excellent that our CCP/WHO controlled govt has banned.
Instead they chose to destroy businesses, and lives with unnecessary lockdowns for an easily treatable virus and try to force people to take experimental gene therapies that already in a few months has a much worst safety track record than Ivermectin that has been used for decades with almost zero adverse events.

Is it possible that "Big Pharma Government-sponsored murderers" have engineered the virus and released it deliberately so as to make billions of dollars off of selling us the vaccines? Might it also be possible that the appearance of more rather than less virulent mutations has something to do with this? So that year after year new variations require annual vaccinations?
Sam, I watched Cuomo stuff thousands of infected people in elder care facilities causing at least 16000 deaths. Naturally, these deaths were avoidable with early intervention that was denied to them.
He is now under investigation. That is the tip of the iceberg of the real world. You live in an alternate reality, not me.

Thanks, Aris. Shara will be gone a year next month. It's pretty sad how some folks treat Covid as a way to pick political fights. I hope that most folks here will never have to experience the impacts of Covid as close as we have. If they come through with having to mask, social distance, and lockdowns being the extent of their experiences, they are the lucky ones.

You truly are a distasteful person.
Make no mistake about it, I too am very sorry for your loss. If people are pushed out of a plane by thugs who deny them parachutes, blame the thugs, not their false narrative that no parachutes are available.

'nuff said. Some folks just operate in alternate realities.
Yes, only Sam Sharpe can continually insult and troll people without any justification. You have
such great taste in demeaning efforts that have actually saved lives!

Not about politics, it's about genocide.

Yes, and whatever you do, don't treat before hospitalization(!) wait until it is too late. Some of the lucky ones are the four people I know whose lives were saved by me getting them early treatment in consultation with the heroic Dr's that I know. Just maybe it is you who should separate politics from medical science, there is no science behind lockdowns and masks for an easily treatable virus.

I am sorry, Sam, for your loss, you have my sympathies and condolences.
It seems that the entire planet has more or less used this pandemic as a way to pick a political fight. I have believed from the beginning that Trudeau should have formed a unity government, as Churchill did in England during World War Two. It is sickening nonsense for O'Toole, Singh and the others to be blaming Trudeau for his actions and suggesting at the same time how they would have done a better job. We are all in this together, and so should they be. Issues like World Wars and pandemics of this magnitude rise above any possible partisan politics, or at least in my opinion they should.

Listen to the video of Trudeau I posted. He is the one that politicized as an "opportunity". Meanwhile, his administration proceeded to murder a
huge percentage of the elderly population in this country by denying them effective treatments of early interventions including ivermectin or even nutraceuticals
that allowed other countries to get through the pandemic comparitively unscathed.
Instead, do nothing, wait until victims are blue in the face, send them to a hospital put them on a ventilator where about 2 in 10 people survive if they do not get their lungs blown out.
The virus has been easily treatable since the beginning and still is. Lockdowns, masks, and business closures are yet another great harm that is being done to people
This is about fighting tyranny and dictatorship under the thin disguise of claiming to help people. This is not unique to Canada. It is an international problem where I can think of only a dozen countries that adapted early treatment and did not need dangerous experimental gene therapies AKA Vax's lockdowns masks, etc. They did not bow down to the WHO, GAVI the CCP, and all the other thugs behind this crime against humanity.

Humanity is a crime against the universe which would be better off without us. It may not have to wait too long if what you say is true, and it may well be.
