General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
"Few realize that large increases in the concentrations of greenhouse gases cause very small changes in the heat balance of the atmosphere. Doubling the concentration of methane – a 100% increase, which would take about 200 years at the current growth rates – would reduce the heat flow to space by only 0.3%, leading to an average global temperature change of only 0.2 °C. This is less than one-quarter of the change in temperature observed over the past 150 years.
Most of the predicted catastrophic warming from greenhouse gas emissions is due to positive feedbacks that are highly speculative, at best. In accordance with Le Chatelier’s principle, most feedbacks of natural systems are negative, not positive. "
1. the current consequences of the negative climate change we are experiencing are not new;
2. the current consequences are not that serious; and
3. the projected consequences are not as serious as the Anthropogenicists claim.
Yet this California drought problem seems to me (And to others) to be serious ...........the projections of water agencies as to shorfalls in future seem accurate (It is going to get worse)!
What do CT'ers think about these competing claims??

"Drought is intrinsic to the natural climate of California.[5] Across the Californian region, paleoclimate records dating back more than 1,000 years show more significant dry periods compared to the latest century. Ancient data reveals two mega-droughts that endured for well over a century, one lasting 220 years and one for 140 years. The 20th Century was fraught with numerous droughts, yet this era could be considered relatively "wet" compared against an expansive 3,500 year history. In recent times, droughts lasting five to 10 years have raised concern, but are not anomalous. Rather, decade long droughts are an ordinary feature of the state's innate climate. Based on scientific evidence, dry spells as severe as the mega-droughts detected from the distant past are likely to recur, even in absence of anthropogenic climate change.[6]"
"Tom is a well known racist, and like most of them he won't admit it, possibly even to himself." - Ed Seedhouse, October 4, 2020.
Thanks Tom - seems like solid proof to me that there is a natural history in the region of severe drought.
So it appears drought in this region is natural.
But the text admits that there is a contributing factor into the regional drought history from man's contribution: "even in the absence of anthropogenic climate change". So it may be that man is increasing the natural drought cycle at the moment, though in the long-run, mega droughts would eventually happen, even if man were not part of the problem.
"A civil war is exploding in Europe as a global climate hoax finally reveal the real agenda. Farmers are under attack by their own governments across the world. They are the front line for the coming climate wars. Ths is the ugly face of the UN & WEF."
"Stalinist-style climate lockdowns will start in the UK in 2024. Local residents will be locked into secure zones& not allowed out without express council permission. Oxfordshire Council is the first jurisdiction in Britain to trial the draconian lockdowns."
Live local is a good goal. The 15 minute city is one iteration of this......it has its merits. Read my acquaintance's book, Locavore.
Your Depopulation Conspiracy Theory skewers your assessment and your judgment. The lock-downs are part of this unsupported future projection.....fear-mongering speculation.
Let's get real about what the evidence is today, and in the past, and put the dangers in real terms........don't inflate them into unbelievability. The public will disengage from unrealism.
This is not to deny the possible dangers of the New World Order (You refer to it as the Great Reset), should it unfortunately come to pass. We must head it off........you will not be locked in your neighbourhood. But you will have NO democracy, no decision-making autonomy.........it will be a dictatorship. That is evidence based.

Bob, Everything I have posted is based on facts, not conspiracy theories I am a conspiracy factualist. I have seen no refutation of anything I
posted from you at all.
What can I expect from someone who has injected themselves five(!) times with an experimental compound whose ingredients are posted nowhere
with zero longitudinal safety data sold by corporations who have paid billions of dollars in criminal fines over the last two decades to settle fraudulent misrepresentations of their products.
Thumbs Up, Sid. Good article on "local action re cars". If we can ever get the globe to go to a "collection of villages", things like this could be duplicated across the whole globe.
I posted it to my Facebook, The REAL News.

Yes such a wonderful concept, economically penalizing people for leaving their local areas. Why, because a bunch of power-hungry politicians decided without a shred of real evidence that CO2 is the control button to the climate and therefore they get to tell people where to go and when. For once the BBC speaks the truth and it is ugly!

Your last video link: a very concerning presentation for those of us who have accepted the majority government and majority medical establishment presentation on the COVID-19 vaccine.
